How To Become A Volunteer For The "Smart Choices, Better Chances" Program
Applicants for the "Smart Choices, Better Chances" volunteer instructor positions must meet the following criteria prior to being approved as an instructor.
- Experience working with young people in some capacity.
- Desire to work with students.
- Strong (oral) communication skills.
- Flexible schedule and dependable means of transportation.
- Law enforcement or related experience would be beneficial, but not essential.
- Willingness to learn criminal law and related subjects.
- Complete two day "Smart Choices, Better Chances" training course presented by the Attorney General's Office.
